Back in 1977, Sayid does not cooperate with Sawyer, and he is taken to the torturer who drugs him to tell the truth. When does tell the truth after being drugged, they don’t believe him and members of the Dharma Initiative vote to execute Sayid.

A burning Dharma bus strikes a building and young Ben Linus breaks Sayid out during the confusion. The two escape into the jungle. However, once they have reached the jungle, Sayid shoots Ben. In flashbacks, Sayid is caught by Ilana, a bounty hunter, who has been hired to take him to Guam. Learning that he is in flight 316, and seeing Ben and other members of the Oceanic 6, he realizes that they’re not going to make it to Guam.
