Back in 1977, Daniel Faraday returns to the island in order to warn its inhabitants of a catastrophe involving the Swan Station. Faraday confronts Dr. Chang and warns him about the accident that will create the Hatch, and he tells Chang that he’s from the future and that Miles is his son, but Chang is unconvinced.

Meanwhile, Sawyer, Juliet, Miles and Jin decide to head back for the beach, abandoning their lives with the Dharma Initiative. Hurley stays with them while Jack, Kate and Faraday head out to find the Others and his mother, known then as Ellie. Jack, Kate, and Daniel start a gun fight with the Dharma Initiative, leading Dharma to go after Sawyer and Juliet. In flashbacks, it is revealed that Daniel Faraday is Widmore’s son as well.
