Season 1
The first of the ‘Lost’ series, it commenced on September 22 2004, airing Wednesdays at 8:00 pm US time. In all there were 24 episodes in the series. The series begins on a somber note with the Oceanic Flight 815 crashing on a deserted tropical island.
From there on begins the arduous journey of the surviving passengers on board the ill-fated flight to stay alive amidst the hostile conditions of the island. It is these very adverse conditions that bring the survivors – hitherto complete strangers – together. To stay alive, they overcome numerous antagonistic beings including polar bears, a mysterious creature that is native to the island, and even the spiteful local inhabitants of the island, called the “Others”. In the midst of all this, they bump into a Frenchwoman by the name Danielle Rousseau who was shipwrecked on the island, 16 years ago. While encountering her, the group comes across an inexplicable metallic hatch that had been buried in the ground. During the series, the group makes a desperate attempt to leave the island on a raft.
